Aunt Landa Bethel Foundation Launches Administrative Headquarters; Introduces ‘DnD Oga I Sabi’ App

Popular Humanitarian, Dr Yolanda N. George-David (Ph.D.) unveiled a new administrative headquarters for Aunt Landa Bethel Foundation on Friday, July 7, 2017 at ChevyView Estate, Lekki, Lagos State.

The effort is aimed at helping those who have come in contact with the foundation connect easily with the foundation and what it stands for.

The headquarters, which is now open to the public, has several facilities starting with consultation and therapy rooms, beds, kids’ corner with games and colourful paintings, a conference room for reunions, punching bags for anger therapy, as well as a studio where albums of those who come for rehab will be released. The administrative headquarters also houses sign language teachers for kids who have been abused, computers, different genres of books and more.

Dr Yolanda N. George-David also introduced ‘Aunt Landa Suicide Watch’ which will have trained counsellors that will attend to every suicidal case brought before the foundation; hence the provision of a software that will pick the pulse of callers, so as to determine whether they sound desperate or suicidal. This is aimed at reducing the high rate of suicide in the society.

The Chairman of the foundation and popular comedian, Alibaba later introduced a newly built mobile app called “DnD Oga I Sabi” which is already available on Google Play Store. The app is designed to help service providers find their consumers and be found by consumers in these hard economic times.

Aunt Landa hopes that this effort will in turn create job opportunities for different people as their services will be required from time to time by organisations, individuals that may be in need of their kind of services. She remarked ‘For me, love is an action word and the idea behind this is to basically empower people, give them a reason to continue without considering giving up as a result of being frustrated.’

A number of celebrities and socialites were in attendance including the king of comedy, Alibaba, Rev Paul Chikwem,  MC Abbey, Grand Komanda, Rems, Tosin Martins, MC Prince,  others.
